FAQ
Q: Why is
some of your art labeled with "Ice Blue X" I thought you were known online as
"The Ukemura"
A: This is a recent change in nickname, and as such, some of my art
still reflects the old moniker.
Q: Will you draw art for me?
A: I'm sorry, but no. There are a million reasons for this, and all
of them begin with "I'm not going to give you a piece of crap." and end with
"And quite generally, I don't have the time." I'm far from confident enough in
my art to begin offering my services, and I'm a University student to boot. Of
course, if you tend to like the same things I like, and communicate with me on
a regular basis, you might end up getting art for one reason or another
anyway. I often offer art to people I know online, but they will probably all
attest to the fact that my saying I'll draw something for them may mean they
get it the next day and may mean they get it the next month. If, however you'd
like to -pay- me for my work, and I honestly am not entirely sure why you
would, but nonetheless, if you simply must have something drawn by me, I am a
starving University student and am more than willing to discuss it.
Q: Will you link me?/Can I link you?
A: Generally speaking, the answer is yes. There's one stipulation to
that outlined in the disclaimer, but other than that - please feel free to get
in touch with me about it.
Q: May I put works of yours on my site?
A: You may, but I insist you please ask me before that happens. I
keep very careful track of where my art has gone, and if I see my stuff on
your site and I know you have not made any mention of this to me, I will be
asking you to take it down. If you're claiming my work as yours, we're going
to have a far less pleasant chat. I also ask that you not take or ask to take
works coloured by Powers Within. They're highlighted blue on the art page.
Q: May I e-mail you or contact you on AIM/ICQ/MSN?
A: Sure. In fact, please do. I'm usually pretty good about
responding. Here's a hint for the wise though, if I haven't responded? It's
probably because your message was full of misspelled words and l337sp34k. I
get upwards of 30 e-mails a day, so I sort of go with a teacher attitude
towards it. If I can't read it, I won't sit around for an hour or three
trying.
Q: Can I add you to my livejournal?/I added you to my livejournal, but
you haven't added me back!
A: The answer to this is of course and go right ahead. If I haven't
added you back, give me a little time - I don't always remember to check my
friends list every day.
Q: Can I talk to you at a convention? Which ones do you attend?
A: Quite generally, Anime North and CN Anime here in Toronto.
Occasionally I'll be making a trip out to somewhere else, and if I do, you can
always catch up with me on the Forums or via e-mail for that purpose. If you
want to meet up at some convention site, please feel free to let me know what
you look like, or what costume you'll be in. I'll be absolutely sure to come
say hi.
Q: Will you put work of mine on your site?
A: Not unless it's a gift. The reason for this is simply that this
is my ego-tripping site, and it's also not the only site I run...so mostly,
it's a matter of time constraint. If it's a Yu-Gi-Oh related piece, I run a
site called "Kyokou Geemu", which houses a variety of fanworks related to Yu-Gi-Oh,
so feel free to submit there.
Q: May I have space on Nocturnalsoldier.org?
A: A Yes/No. The people who are housed here are either paying me for
the services or were given the space as a gift (Christmas, Birthday...) If you
would like to pay me the extra $10 American per 100MB, I'll happily fork over
the subdomain and an e-mail address to boot. The e-mails cost me nothing
extra.
Q: Where did you come up with the name "Nocturnalsoldier.org"/The
Ukemura?
A: The former is in regards to staying up very late in order to get
my site working, and the later is in regards to the character "Yukimura
Seiichi" from Prince of Tennis, who looks an awful lot like yours truly.
Q: What did you use to make this site?
A: Notepad and Adobe Photoshop. Code is primarily HTML
Q: What do you use to make your art?
A: Any variety of things, but 90% of the time
it's a plain old 0.7mm pencil, an eraser, a black felt tip pen and either
Adobe Photoshop or coloured pencils.
THANKS
My Grandparents -
Thankyou for buying the domain for me, and for continuing to take an
interest in what I do here.
My Family -
Besides the rather obvious thankyous that go along with just simply
being my family, all of you have at least taken some interest or tried to
follow all that I have done with the site. Thankyou, it gives me the
confidence to continue trying new things and to continue my work on
something that gives me great enjoyment.
James Allen -
Thankyou for remaining a close friend and supporting me. I can only
wish you the best in life.
Dan Denton -
Thankyou for being someone that I can tell practically anything to. I
can only hope that I do just as good a job as listening to you as you do for
me
Kat Matravers (Shinigamis' Koi) -
Thankyou for all your drawing tips and praise/critiques of my pieces.
You're the best affiliate any site could ever have, and one of the best
friends that any girl could ever wish to hope for. I wish you continued
success with your site
Zac Smith (Magnus) -
Thankyou for understanding everything and sticking with me through one
of the most difficult times of my life. And keep writing, because I will
always be your biggest fan.
Duo Maxwell -
Thankyou for just being there to talk to. You made a lot of
potentially hellish situations not so hellish, and you NEVER failed to be
there when I needed you. And never think for a second that I didn't mean it
when I said you were good-looking (even though my exact words were "sexy
bitch man"). I say what I mean, and you will find a boyfriend...trust me.
Nadia and David (Red Draco and Black Draco) -
Thankyou for being great friends. It was my pleasure to attend your
wedding, and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you two will be
together forever. Mechadrake Assembalies will always be one of my favorite
sites
Lowellius, Tim, Aspect, Shinkuu, Lex, Smurfman -
Thankyou for hanging out with me at Red and BD's wedding. It was a
blast, and I wouldn't have had as much fun as I did without all of you. I
hope to see all of you again, and again.
Wolf and Emerald -
Thankyou to my "brothers" who are and always will be there when I need
you. I always wanted brothers, and even though you two are not my blood, I
always feel as though you are.
EJ -
When I started boarding school in Grade 11, I didn't know what I could
possibly do - nobody I knew in my grade boarded. But then Ben introduced me
to this guy who liked Anime...and things went from there. I think that
somehow we managed to have some of the best times at Appleby College that
anyone could possibly have - and where ever I am in the future, I'll miss
you terribly.
Tim and Gary -
The both of you certainly deserve a lot of thanks - you make my life a
million times easier...oh and well if you count your driving skills - maybe
a lot harder too...I can always count on you to be ready to go do something
that's uber cool and tons of fun and to cheer me up and make me smile when I
don't feel like smiling. Thankyou for everything.
To The KG People -
HOW cool are you guys? Is it, or is it NOT one of the coolest places to be
in the history of the world? You guys make life fun. And one day, Trollsmut
will rule over all our souls. Yes. *spooky finger wigglies*
To My Friends From School -
Thankyou to all you people. You may wonder what you had to do with
this site, but it's you people that get ME to make you webpages for your
courses, and coming to me for advice that makes me feel good about my
ability. And don't forget being my friends. Whether you're in my grade, or
another...you know who you are, and I thank you for everything you do.
All MY Visitors -
This site would be nothing without you, my visitors. Thankyou all for
being there for me, submitting your work and for coming back time after
time. You make this site what it is.
