Cross Limbo - Harry and Dumbledore have some one-on-one time in
the afterlife

Questioning
the Scar - Ickle Harry ponders his scar in the bathroom mirror.
I drew this to explain why I 'don't draw' Harry's scar – it clearly
states in the books that Aunt Petunia had him grow his fringe/bangs
long to hide it and whenever he tries to hide who he is he's flattening
down his hair. He never seems to want it to show,. so flaunting it the
way they do in the movies and the promotional art seems out of character
to me. I don't draw it because it's behind his hair ... even if I did
draw a little squiggly line to indicate it, in pencil form it would
just look like a crooked hair.
¤ Muggle
Food - Harry and Hagrid eat burgers at the station.
¤
Magic
Eye! - A short comic regarding the magic powers of Moody's eye
¤
My Little Lads - 'You are my little lads, and I will look
after you!' (from Monstrous Regiment). The Slug Club,
with attendees taken from both the Hogwarts Express and Christmas incarnations
of the organization. Another drawing, another Hermione design, and Blaise
looks a bit like the saucier in Ratatouille but we'll pretend
not to notice that ...
¤
More
Christmas Fun - Oh Snape, give Harry back his present!
¤
The
Second Task ...? - I asked for a bunch of drawing requests, one
year, to fill up my sketchbook. This was one. I don't remember what
the story behind it was, but it's got Harry in it!
¤
Catch - A rare and elusive Quidditch drawing.
¤
Harry's Tattoo - Drawn in reference to the rumour in one of the
books that Harry's got a Horntail tattooed on his chest.
Harry
and Scrimgeour - I was so pleased with my earlier design for the
Leonid man described on Ms Rowling's site that I was disappointed when
he had a small and two-dimensional role. Oh
well.
Harry
at 16 - I'm surprised how easy it was to age him.
What
Makes a Wizard - Early in his magical career, Nathaniel from the
Bartimaeus trilogy (a scrawny, dark-haired teenager) spends a
night on the street, and the next morning has a head of very messy hair.
The connection was inevitable.
Setting
Off - Hagrid and Harry leave the island, and Harry begins his adventure.
Oh, if he only knew what was in store...
¤
Ooooh,
Spooooky - Drawn in reaction to the announcement of the 7th book's
title. I can hear the line in my head and I'm pretty sure it's from
some BBC radio comedy or other but I can't think what ...

Ketchup
Harry - Drawn with a skewer stick stylus, out of ketchup. Um ...
yeah, that's all I have to say. Here's a wider
view.
Running Away - Harry is startled
by a noise in the wilds of Magnolia Crescent. I think this is my new
favourite Harry drawing.
Admonition - Mr Weasley warns
Harry not to go looking for Sirius Black, but conveniently avoids telling
him why he would want to do so.
Eavesdropping - Harry listens in on
Dumbledore and Snape's conversation ... though to be fair, Percy is
doing the same.
Grounded - Ron called Professor
McGonagall a lot of names that greatly annoyed Hermione; Hermione assumed
an "all-for-the-best" expression that made Ron even angrier,
and Harry had to endure everyone in class talking loudly and happily
about what they were going to do first, once they got into Hogsmeade.
Under Honeydukes -
This is Harry in a world of funky perspective, peeking up into Honeydukes
from the tunnel end in the basement.
Interrogated - Professor Snape
tries to wring it out of Harry ... If his head was in Hogsmeade, where
was the rest of him?
The Firebolt - And what to their wondering
eyes did appear, but a brand new Firebolt, which brought them great
cheer.
After Quidditch - Harry and Ron
saunter back from practising with the Firebolt.
Tying his Shoe - Harry has an emotional
moment during anti-Dementor training.
Victory - Harry celebrates
his successful Patronus – oh, and winning the Quidditch Cup, of
course.
Divination Exam - Harry sees ...
um ... a hippogriff?
Tackled - A somwehat overenthusiastic
greeting from Padfoot – though Harry didn't know it at the time.
Harry Restrained - Boy, it's a
good thing Ron and Hermione are there, otherwise Harry would be going
totally berserk!
Pummelling Sirius - And ... Harry
goes totally berserk.
Pettigrew's Plea - Harry is not
about to look kindly on the rat.
A Closet Moment - Hermione sat
down on an upturned bucket, looking desperately anxious...
"Harry, I don't understand what Dumbledore wants us to do."
Bowing to Buckbeak - At a time
of great pressure and distress, it does not do to forget one's manners.
The Reluctant Hippogriff - When
one's subject is offering suicidal resistance, though, it may be wise
to use force.
Rescuing Sirius - Oh the drama!
Eavesdropping Again - It
sounded like Fudge and Snape. ... [Harry] caught a glimpse of
Snape's smirk as he and Fudge passed [their] hiding place.
Mission Accomplished - Harry and
Hermione report back to Dumbledore after rescuing Sirius.
In Hospital - ...they heard a
distant roar of fury echoing from somewhere above them...
Passing the Torch - He hesitated,
and then held out the Marauder's Map too. "I am no longer
your teacher, so I don't feel guilty about giving you back this as well."
Glum - Lupin's gone, Sirius is
gone, and Harry has to go back to the Dursleys'. Bummer.
Enter Pigwidgeon - Harry catches
sight of a tiny owl from the homeward-bound Hogwarts Express.
An Unfortunate Halloween
- The Trio have an identity crisis ...
Unlocked - The real reason
from all that mental trouble in Order of the Phoenix.

2003 |
Harry and the Ring - The description of Harry's first reaction to
the Dementor on the Hogwarts Express is eerily similar to Frodo's first
reaction to the Ringwraith in Fellowship of the Ring. So
. . . this is kind of combining the two.

Cartoony Harry (and Ron) - One day I decided
to have a little fun and try the core characters in a different style.
Harry and Ron share a page here...
The Mirror of Erised - This doesn't actually
happen in the movie, but it was inspired by a part of the soundtrack.
I really liked it when I first drew it but nearly everyone I've shown
it to has thought he was getting punched. So maybe it's not so
successful after all.
Quidditch - I'm more a fan of acting
than action (which explains the lack of Quidditch pictures)
but I drew this pose on a request from a friend who was working on a
sculpture.
Twinge - Harry is woken up by the pain in his
scar at the beginning of Goblet. I tried to age him up a bit for this
but overdid it.

2001
and before |
The Trio - Every time I feel
my drawing skills have improved, I try to update my characters. This was
drawn after my two years of animation school. I like Harry and Ron but
Hermione's a bit off.
Harry and Hedwig - This was going to be the
head icon on my page but it never quite worked out, so here it is instead.
Soaked - Harry's a bit under the weather in the
game against Hufflepuff ... but at least his glasses are clear.
The Marauders' Map - You can't really blame
Harry for being skeptical when Fred and george try to give him something.
Whisper in the Walls - Harry hears a strange
voice when doing detention for Lockhart.
Waking Ginny - ... or trying, anyway. Harry
looks very young here because I had recently realized how young twelve-year-olds
looked and I fear I overcompensated.
So This is Dying? - Harry collapses against
a pillar after getting the wrong end of the Basilisk.
Harry's Valentine - Being popular has
its downsides. Having Gilderoy Lockhart in control of anything affecting
your life also has its downsides. Combining the two is downright
tragic for everyone involved, including the dwarves enlisted to deliver
singing Valentines.
Meeting in the Woods - Here the trio meet their
arch-nemesis in the woods outside the Quidditch World Cup stadium.
Harry looks slightly like Inspector Gadget here ... he used to look a
lot worse but I managed to fix him up a bit.
The Door - Everyone in the Shrieking Shack is distracted
when the door opens ... by itself. (Or was it?)
Snarly - Harry's angry at something. He does that
a lot, I forget what this one is for, specifically.
Bear Hug - Harry and Ron suffer the side effects
of Hagrid's joy when they volunteer to help with Buckbeak's appeal.
Asleep - Harry falls asleep with his glasses on
– this seems to happen quite frequently, often after fainting. I
think I drew this when I was very tired.
Harry's Expressions - A good way to work the
rough edges off a design is to put it through its paces, and a good way
to do that is to pull it and push it through a bunch of expressions.
At Honeydukes - 'Definitely not,' says Harry,
appearing out of what had been thought to be thin air.
Tutted by Hermione - Why does Hermione have
so many books? And what does she know about Lupin?
Wolfsbane - It's amazing what you can learn
when you talk to teachers after school.
The Power of Luuuuuv - Harry has an unexpected
effect on Prof. Quirrell.
Young Harry - I had a compulsion one year
to draw Harry as he wuld appear before the series started.
The Letter - Harry demands that funny parchment
letter back from Uncle Vernon, who has a nasty habit of reading other
people's mail. This is the second picture of Harry I ever drew.
Six years an an animation course later, it's still one of my favourites.
The Boa - Harry speaks to the boa at the zoo in
one of his first demosntrations of magical ability.
Portrait - A coloured version of the first
drawing I ever did of Harry.
