There was one occasion when I drew Tom Riddle and, the moment before colouring in his hair, realized he looked exactly like Malfoy.  That was when I knew I had to change his design.  These are attempts at coming up with an new one I liked.


And this is what I came up with in the end.  I like this design a lot.
And here he is twirling Harry's wand.  Exciting, eh?  And the great thing about this design is that his hairstyle is definitely much more 1942 than the other one... (It's thanks to Tann, a good friend of mine who pointed this out, that I even considered redesigning Riddle.)

"'Oh, it's you,' said Ron, looking at Malfoy as if he were something unpleasant on the sole of his shoe."
The book really says that.  I took it literally.  Sometimes things can be really funny when taken literally.  Sometimes they can also be really annoying,  I have yet to find the dividing line.

Harry, Basilisk-poisoned, wandless, and severely taunted, at the end of the book.  Poooor Harry...

Here's Harry calling over his shoulder to Riddle to help him wake Ginny.  My sister says Harry looks like he's five in this picture, but I think it's really Ginny who looks too young to be at Hogwarts.  Prior to having drawn this picture I found a class picture from grade six, and I was surprised at how much younger everyone  looked than I thought a twelve-year-old should look (I'm horrible at judging ages), and how much younger they looked than I remembered them.  So I figured I should apply this to my designs ... though this was probably going a bit too far.

And here's Ginny, or at least one of several attempts at her.  I think this one kind of ended up looking like my own sister.  But not really.
